History of BIET Gorumahisani
Secondary Training School, Gorumahisani was established in the Year 1973. In the Year 2014 the name of the Secondary Training School, Gorumahisani is changed and named as Block Institute of Education and Training. Now Office of the Principal, BIET, Gorumahisani Mayurbhanj is functioning in its own building under School and Mass Education Department, Govt. of Odisha. The Mission of BIET is to provide academic and resource support at the grass root levels for the success of various strategies, programmes being undertaken in the area of elementary and adult education.
Vision
The vision of the Block Institute of Education & Training (BIET) in Gorumahisani, Mayurbhanj, Odisha is to provide academic and resource support for elementary and adult education programs. The BIET’s three main functions are:
- Training: Induction and continuing training
- Resource support: Extension, guidance, material development, and evaluation tools
- Action research: Action research
